Meditation
DepthPerception also sometimes schedules group meditation sessions. Sometimes these sessions are
before or after a DepthPerception gathering. Other times they are separate.
We have been calling the meditations "Non-Denominational", meaning that we aren't asking everyone to
use the same meditation technique. Lately, recognizing that many people are coming from different
traditions, we've realized a more accurate term might be "Post-Denominational" - meaning that you
may have whatever denomination or practice you might have chosen, but you meditate with us as well.
Whatever we call it, though, it looks like this. We sit quietly and do whatever technique we choose to do
individually. Some will follow Adyashanti's suggestion to simply abide as "Presence" or primordial
consciousness, some say a mantra silently, some watch their breathing, some pray, some do other
techniques, and we all will likely have thoughts and feelings arise. But our intention is simply to Awaken
to the Truth of being- or at the very least to spend some quality time in the present moment.
If you want to learn meditation, or discuss your meditation with us, please let us know. We are happy to
discuss any difficulties or questions you may have and can recommend books and CDs on the subject.
We can also print out a handout on meditation by Adyashanti for you.
